Evergreen Miniature Horse Club Arena Driving Trial - Flirt in hazards

Flirt driving the hazards at the Prelim level. Note the knockdowns on top of the barrels, these were not there for Training level. I unfortunately eliminated us during the first run at the barrels by going through the B gate backwards. But we sure did have fun!

Mini Horse Gets a Shine on at CSU's Veterinary Teaching Hospital

A miniature horse named Shine has a new spring in his step after receiving a rare prosthetic hoof at Colorado State University’s James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital in April 2016. The little horse underwent amputation surgery to remove a mangled rear hoof; after he recovered, a CSU veterinary team worked with an animal orthopedist to outfit Shine with a special device that allows him to walk – and even trot. Now he can shine on!

Flamingo Land Zoo Shetland Ponies

The Shetland pony is a small, but very adaptable Pony and therefore is a good animal for many different environments, it can make a wonderful riding pony, even for children whom often use the Pony as their first mount.

Far from delicate, the Shetland pony is not only known for being a wonderful pet, but also as a work animal. The Shetland pony is also an excellent show animal and can be seen in many horse shows. The Shetland pony is generally a hearty, healthy fit breed and perhaps this accounts for much of its popularity. It seems to adapt well to new surroundings and has been exported all over the world, doing quite well in many different environments.
