Tommy was saved in November 2014 from a PA kill pen. He had been ridden bareback in a video and appeared well broke. After his quarantine, he arrived at a sister rescue in Maryland that December. While at there, they noticed that he was afraid of being separated and attached himself to a draft horse that was rescued along with Tommy. Tommy would just bury his head into the side of the draft horse and hide. They worked a lot with Tommy and thought he had worked through his stress and were able to adopt him out. Unfortunately, the new home did not have another horse, and Tommy was unable to handle being alone. In a cooperative effort, we adopted Tommy and brought him to Horses with Hope in order to provide him with more intensive training. Although he still has issues with being separated, especially when inside a barn, he has made tremendous progress. Dr Harry: showing miniature horses
They say that good things come in small packages and Dr Harry has the perfect example; miniature horses. Don't confuse them with miniature or Shetland ponies as these are really small horses no taller than 86cm.

This was a life long dream and i will gladly do it again. The beach is about a 5 hour drive from my home in northern Texas. The horses were glad to get home but i think they enjoyed their time at the beach, having my attention on them all the time. We were there from Friday morning to Sunday morning. i wish we could have stayed longer but reality called us back.
The horses stayed at a place called Falconwood Equestrian Center, and I recommend it to others who want to board or take their horses to the beach
